Seeds Family Worship is an organization that takes scriptures and puts it to music.  What a great tool to help with scripture memorization!

Right now they are doing a free download of their Seeds of Praise album.  Go HERE to download it.  It is only free until Thanksgiving so do it now!!

Operation Christmas Child

We will be participating in Operation Christmas Child again this year.  If you missed the last meeting and did not get to see the video, this is a project that collects boxes of goodies to send to kids in other countries that do not have money for presents.  It is a ministry and often kids accept Christ as a result of these boxes.

If you haven't already started planning your group's box filling "party" don't forget to do so.  We will collect the boxes at the Nov. 15th meeting.

October Meetings Recaps

October 4th Meeting

Courtney Freeny, a relationship coach, returned again this year to deliver a great message about freeing ourselves of "Mommy Guilt."  It is so hard as a mom to not allow guilt to creep in and take away some of our joy of mothering.


October 18th Meeting

 

We changed things up a bit and watched the session about food on Jen Hatmaker's DVD about her book 7.  It was very thought provoking about how much excess there really is in our lives and it was interesting to hear from her how cutting out the excess effected hers and her family's lives.


I do not know why I cannot seem to remember to take pictures at the meetings, so I apologize for the pictureless update.  Hopefully next meeting I can finally get it all together!

MOPS International October Activities Calendar

Welcome Back!!

Our year is off to a great start!  The first meeting was a Beautiful Mess!  It was so great to see so many of your beautiful faces and we definitely missed those of you that couldn't make it to the first meeting.

We heard from our Steering Team about Self, Marriage, Practical Mothering, Relationships & Marriage.  What areas are you growing in? What areas do you need to grow in?  Great things to think about!

We also got to visit with our groups about our story that we bring with us to MOPS.  So great to hear from each other and the similar & different things we all bring to MOPS.  It's going to be a great year!!

I was a little distracted and did not manage to get many pictures this meeting, but here are a few...Our beautiful banners, the beautiful Claire - our welcome coordinator, and our delicious breakfast!

Our craft, bird's nest necklaces - so cute!  The ones by our craft ladies look way better than mine (which is why they are crafts and I am not, ha!), but I only have mine to take a pic of right now, so it will have to do.

We are getting excited about the new year starting in less than 2 weeks!  Our hospitality ladies are busy making things look beautiful!!!  Check out the new backdrops!

Dessert Nights!

Evites were sent last week for our annual dessert nights.  They are a fun "girls night out" and a time to get to know some of the other MOPS in our group.  If you are new, don't be shy, they are lots of fun (and delicious too!) and we want to meet/see you there.  They are just a week away!  We can't wait to visit and enjoy some yummy treats together!  Please be sure to RSVP.  There are 2 Evites.  One for Tuesday & one for Thursday.  Please make sure you RSVP "yes" to the correct one.

National MOPS Playdate - Thursday

 

Hey Moms!

Join us for the Mops National Playdate on Thursday, August 15th (8/15/13).  We will meet at CBC's Firetruck playground @ 9:30am.

 

Yes, you read that correctly!  It's early, but the popsicles will melt (and me too!) if we wait too late ;)  That also gives the kids time to eat the popsicle & run off the energy from the sugar before going home for lunch & naps :) Woohoo!
